FREEDOM FROM PRESENTS TEN BANDS IN ONE HOUR W/ THREE OPENING ACTS + DJ SEND OFF

PHI-PHENOMENA is an annual festival featuring 10 bands performing in one hour, each playing a 5-minute set with 1-minute breaks in between. The festival was held in New York in 1996 and 1998, Boston in 1997, Minneapolis in 1999, Los Angeles in 2000, and Miami in 2001. The style of music performed at these festivals has included noise, free jazz, indie pop, djs spinning vinyl and punk.

JESSE PETERSEN (Solid percussive free guitarist, sort of mix between Bill Orcutt (Harry Pussy) and Derek Bailey. Orcutt tonight.)

{what is fray day?}  a day/evening of personal story telling (with an open mic)...
thus, anyone who has a personal story to share has the chance to talk...   and there shall be other interactive participatory
artistic things going on as well...  (this can involve everything from snapping digital pictures of the people at the event, everyone being given scribble space so they can comment on anything from the stories to their own digital graffiti that will be incorporated into a webpage after the event, to anything else...)
